Ottawa Weekend Round-Up: April 18-19
You know those people who say Ottawa is boring? We’re going to have to disagree. Here are some of the coolest things happening in Ottawa this weekend:
1. OutGROW/OutPLAY Mega Kids Sale – April 17-19 – Jack Charron Arena
OutGROW OutPLAY provides parents with the opportunity to quickly recycle and resell quality childrens’ items (clothing, furniture, nursery bedding, maternity clothing, strollers, high chairs, cribs, everything!) in a well-organized environment. Just be forewarned – unattended children will be given an espresso and a free kitten.
2. Capital Pop Up! Spring Handmade Charity Show -Saturday, April 18th – Bronson Centre
Capital Pop Up offers a “vibrant mix of handmade food artisans, potters, jewelers tailors, soap chemists, & more.” The event is free of charge, but please bring some cash as they will be collecting donations for CHEO!
3. The Ottawa Gala – Saturday, April 18th – Canadian War Museum
The Ottawa Gala is one of our city’s coolest annual events. It supports Ottawa’s underprivileged and at-risk youth by supporting such charities as the Ottawa School Breakfast Program, the Caring and Sharing Exchange, and the Fund for a New Generation. Head to www.ottawagala.ca to grab your tickets in advance!
4. Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show – Sunday, April 19th – Shaw Centre (55 Colonel By Drive)
Bring your eye for fashion to the Ottawa Vintage Clothing Show, an unbelievable event that brings together the best vintage vendors from Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, and beyond to showcase amazing one-of-a-kind accessories, clothing, designer vintage, and jewelry!
