Getting to know YOUR Ottawa: Kanata

Known for being one of Ottawa’s largest suburbs, the hi-tech area of Kanata boasts beautiful scenery and a wonderful array of activities for all ages. If you find yourself in the West end this weekend, make sure to check out these fantastic attractions!

Central Bierhaus: The latest addition to the Kanata restaurant population is Central Bierhaus. Taking over the formerly very popular O’Connor’s location, Central Bierhaus is a great date night destination! With a huge selection of beers and great food, Central Bierhaus is quickly becoming the hot spot in Kanata. Go check out the big game and make sure to try one of their delicious pretzels!

Andrew Haydon Park: Located just past the outskirts of Kanata is the absolutely beautiful Andrew Haydon Park. Pack a picnic and spend the day with your family enjoying the view. The park features plenty of walking trails, play structures & swimming. Fan of sailboats? Make sure to check out the Sailing Club at the nearby Dick Bell Park.

Kanata Civic Art Gallery: Encouraging and celebrating the works of young artists, the Kanata Civic Art Gallery is located in the John Mlacak Centre on Campeau Drive. Right now, they have a special exhibition showcasing the Kanata Art Clubs work. Support some of Ottawa’s own artists and absorb some readily available culture.

Kiwi Kraze: Join in the obsession that is Fro-Yo! Top off your day in Kanata with the perfect summer treat made your way. Mix and match flavours to make your own personalized concoction!

Have  a great weekend everyone!
